Our Building

When looking for our building, don’t expect to find a traditional church building with columns and a steeple. We actually meet in rented space in part of a business center. When you turn onto Corporate Center Drive, you will see the building as you come to the top of the hill; it will be in front of you on the left. You may park in the front or on the side of the building (if you wish to avoid steps and curbs, please park on the side) and then walk through the main doors into our foyer. Greeters will be there to welcome you and familiarize you with our facility. They will hand you a bulletin and they may ask you to fill out a visitor’s card so that we can reach out to you later.
After passing through the doors to our space, you will walk down a hallway and you will be able to enter our sanctuary. All of our children’s Sunday School classrooms are located along this hallway.
Our church is a very friendly place to visit, so be prepared for people to talk with you.

The Worship Service

We are committed to “doing church” based on the simple but profound means that God has given us. Therefore, our services are built around God’s revelation of himself through his Word: we believe the preaching of God’s Word is the centerpiece of our services.
Our services allow us to both hear from God and then to respond to God. He speaks to us and we speak back to him.
Most services are under an hour and fifteen minutes. Here are the elements you will experience as you sit through a typical service:

  • Call to Worship – We begin with hearing a passage of Scripture that declares who God is and calls us to worship him.

  • Prayer – You will hear prayer at the beginning of the service but also throughout the service. A pastor will always pray a Congregational Prayer in which he brings many matters before the Lord. This could be anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Singing – We sing 3 or 4 songs per service. Many of them are traditional hymns from the Trinity Hymnal, but these are supplemented by modern worship songs that are theologically robust and singable for a congregation. We desire to hear the collective, united voices of God’s people and so the accompaniment is often simple.

  • Offering – We pass around an offering plate to collect people’s tithes and offerings. You should in no way feel obligated to give. This is not the price of admission, and no one is expecting you to give. The offering is so that God’s people can support their local church and the work of missions around the globe. If you’d like, you can place your visitor’s card in the plate.

  • Scripture Reading – As the Bible is being read, feel free to follow along or just to listen. If it is a responsive reading (that’s when the worship leader reads a line and then the congregation reads a line), you will find the text in your bulletin.

  • Preaching – Our pastor will direct you to turn to a specific passage of scripture and will then explain and apply the truths it contains (expositional preaching). We encourage you to prayerfully consider the things being preached. Most sermons are between 35 and 45 minutes.

  • Ordinances – On some Sundays, you may get to witness a baptism. If it is the first Sunday of the month, we will be taking the Lord’s Supper (communion). If you are a baptized believer who is seeking to follow the Lord, we invite you to partake.

  • End of Service – At the end of our service you will hear a benediction. This is followed by a piano postlude during which you quietly stand until it is completed.

Childcare

Childcare is provided during the service for children ages 0 to 2. The nursery is in a room off the hallway that leads to the sanctuary.
We love seeing children in the pew with their parents and we are comfortable with the noises (and distractions) that children sometimes make! If you need a space for training your children, ask one of our greeters and they would be happy to help direct you to our Training Room.
Also, our Sunday School hour (before the morning worship service) provides classroom instruction for children ages 2 and older.

Dress

At our church, there is no standard of dress. We remember that the Lord does not look at what’s on the outside but what’s in our hearts. Therefore, some men will be wearing a suit and tie—and some women will be wearing a dress—while others will be far more casual. Please dress in a way that you feel is comfortable and appropriate, whether that includes jeans, dresses, shorts, or a bow tie!
